Turner Waskom was reluctantly allowed to return to HFV after a year of “racing” in the Cat 3 division. Turner has a proven trace record of failure and his ability to sit in on any group and still get dropped during races has attracted state-wide attention.

Turner possesses a unique sixth-sense which allows him to detect even the remotest gain in elevation while on the bike. This has led to several television appearances, including “That’s Amazing!” and “Stupid Animal Tricks”.

Turner is also infamous for his time trailing ability – completing the 80+ mile stage one of the 2002 Elkhorn Classic almost entirely by himself after getting dropped during the neutral start. During the ’03 Elkhorn, Turner again distinguished himself by crashing during the Crit after rounding the first corner and being distracted by the aroma from the free hot dog stand.

Turner plans to lobby the newly elected Congress in 2007 to help eliminate all mountain stages from road races – a practice which is obviously discriminatory to those cyclists unable to train more than 5 hours per month. Turner’s motto forever remains, “Bite Me!!!”
