HFV Training Ride Schedule - Winter 2007/2008
(Preliminary and subject to change, please check Yahoo group messages for updates)
Saturday Rides: John Bravards' "fast and furious" training rides or the "I'd rather not spend more than 2 hours in the cold and rain" rides.
Location: St. Honore Boulangerie, NW 23rd Place and Thurman
Time: 9:00 am
Ride Leader: John Bravard
Jan 12
Jan 26
Feb 2
Feb 23
Road Ride Notes:
1.5 to 2.0 hours at a good pace in the West Hills, Hwy 30, and Skyline.
John and others, will be riding a solid, even hard, pace at the front. People are welcome to sit on, or pull
through. Sitting on won't be super easy, but it shouldn't be that bad with descent fitness.
Pacelines wherever possible. "Tight" formations all the time.
Climb at your own pace and we'll regroup at tops of climbs.
Sit on if you're tired. If unsure of your fitness, sit on at first and start working when you know you're
feeling good.
If it's raining or wet, anyone without fenders AND a buddy flap nearly touching the ground will be sent to the
back. This is a NO SPRAY ride.
Warming up a little before the ride is a good idea, but not necessary. We'll keep it together and relatively
mellow before hitting dirty 30.
Potentially hang out a little at St. Honore after the ride for a snack and drink.
Sunday Road Rides:
Location: TBD
Time: TBD
Ride Leader: TBD
General Ride Notes: **Please note these are TEAM rides only - not open rides.
Rides will start on time. If you arrive late prepare to catch up to the group on the designate route.
The rides will be of the planned duration and route unless EVERY member of the group wants to change the
plan. Most rides will be from 3-5 hours.
Mandatory Items: Fenders, two tubes, winter weight tires (no worn out race tires), money, food,
appropriate clothing, and a good attitude.
If you do not want to participate in the Team ride please make arrangements to ride with somebody else from
the team off of the Half Fast group chat format. It is disruptive to provide 19 different ride options each week. You joined us…Now attend the rides.
Other Training Rides:
Check the HFV Yahoo group for other road and mtb ride options.
